The Steps to Freedom 5K is an untimed, non-competitive event with the focus on gathering pledges or making a personal donation and walking to help fund FYM programs for juvenile offenders and their families.
Join us Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Saginaw Township Soccer Complex, 3575 McCarty Road, Saginaw, MI 48603
Registration is $15 per family or individual or $10 for youth with their youth group, and includes a finisher medal and a Steps to Freedom T Shirt if registration is received at least 8 days prior to event. Additional shirts can be purchased for $8 up to 8 days prior to event.
1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes will be awarded for most funds raised in both the family and individual categories. In addition, for every $100 raised or donated a ticket will be awarded for the drawings for $50 gift cards. You must be present to win gift cards. There is a limit of one $50 gift card per person.
Same day registration and check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., the run/walk begins at 9:00 a.m., and prizes will be awarded at 10:30 a.m. at the pavilion.
After you finish walking, we ask you to sign a "STEP" with a message or verse of encouragement to the kids in detention. MORE INFORMATION

sign a step: i walked for you
By participating in the Steps To Freedom 5K, you are helping FYM continue to take the message of God's love and salvation through Jesus Christ to the youth in detention.
We ask you to sign a "Step" and write a message or verse of encouragement to share that love with the kids in detention. They need to know that God and His children loves them.
By participating in the event and signing the "Step" that says "I Walked For You" is a visible demonstration of God's love and your love toward each and every one of them.
The "Steps" are hung in the hallway at the juvenile detention center with your messages.
Each child has the opportunity to read the "Steps" that say "I Walked For You."
Take a moment to reflect on how your participation impacts the youth in detention. In MATTHEW 25:31-40, Jesus shares the story about the sheep and the goats. In verse 40 He says: "And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
